Office for Ageing

The Office for Ageing (OFA) provides strategic advice to the Director-General and Minister for Ageing on the implications of the ageing of the population and the needs of older people in the community.

The OFA works in collaboration with DADHC regions and other central office branches, and works with other agencies to build awareness and promote appropriate policies and services for older people. The OFA also leads and supports cross-agency work on major issues.

Positive Ageing
Positive ageing is about maintaining autonomy and independence and remaining active in the social, economic and cultural facets of society. A healthy ageing population in NSW will contribute knowledge, experience and skills to the community and to the workforce. Opportunities and benefits of positive ageing include  independence, good health, friendship, self fulfilment and  inter-generational learning and sharing.
