Minimum Data Set (MDS)
|
Welcome to DADHC's Minimum Data Set (MDS) Support PageUnder the Home and Community Care Agreement (HACC) and the Commonwealth State & Territory Disability Agreement (CSTDA) between the NSW and Australian Governments, NSW has a responsibility to report to the Australian Government on service and program activity levels. Data is collected in the form of a National Minimum Data Set (MDS) for each program. The two data sets consist of an electronic quarterly collection of service delivery and client data from services funded by DADHC and from those services operated by DADHC. The MDS data collections allow NSW data to be compared nationally and assist greatly in the preparation of funding submissions and negotiations. MDS data also assists in other ways:
- For clients and their families it means better information about service accessibility, appropriateness, efficiency and effectiveness.
- For service providers it means better data for review and service delivery planning and for improving internal management.
- For program managers it provides a tool for policy development, strategic planning and performance monitoring against output/outcome criteria.
