Grants

Seniors Week Grants are provided through the NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care (DADHC) to assist the development and/or organisation of local NSW Seniors Week projects.

DADHC offers two categories of grant funding for 2008 NSW Seniors Week projects:

  • Up to $500
  • $1,000

All applicants must be from either a local government organisation, non-profit organisation or a community group that is either an association under the Associations Incorporation Act, a co-operative society under the Co-operatives Act, a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Code or any other incorporated group.

Non-incorporated groups can also apply for a NSW Seniors Week Grant, but will need to ask an incorporated group to sponsor and manage the grant on their behalf.

Community organisations operating on a for-profit basis are not eligible for a NSW Seniors Week Grant.

DADHC is seeking projects or activities that promote some of the following objectives of NSW Seniors Week:

  • Celebrate older people and their continuing contribution to family, friends, workplaces and communities
  • Provide enjoyable opportunities for getting together, both with older people and across the generations
  • Demonstrate that seniors can be healthy, active and continue to learn
  • Promote and celebrate the diversity of older people in our communities
  • Challenges some of society's stereotypes around ageing and invites us all to consider our relationships with, and attitudes towards older people.

More information on the NSW Seniors Week Grants Program can be found in the Application form (pdf, 959K). The Application form is also available in a printable version by calling the Seniors Information Service on 13 12 44.

Applications must be received at DADHC no later than 5pm on Friday 21 September 2007. Late applications will not be accepted.
